i love driving in the snow. you're right - it's like a tunnel, or maybe a cocoon. winter is very late this year in northern nh. tonight it's 40 degrees outside and what little dusting of snow we've had has long since melted. i'm not complaining however, as it'll be here soon enough.

Thank you for painting such a beautiful picture with your words and carrying us with you on your journey. Like Al, I was also imagining where you were on the road!

I think it's amazing at how your world can be so dangerous and wild, but be so beautiful and calming. Hope your winter will be safe and warm.

Ah, but you have been up this road many a times... perhaps just not in the snow...
Our nearest winter neighbor is 6 1/2 miles away, when he's there. Otherwise, 18 miles... Better know how to ride a snowmobile and hope the truck starts!

Gin,

Beautiful. I was with you on your drive home, guessing which turn you guys were taking, and what cliff and drop-off you were describing. Like reading a story about a place you have been to many times.

Are many folks staying for winter along your drive home?

Thanks much.
