On a calm and cloudy evening

And on a calmer day, a familiar view for many of you.

On a calm and cloudy evening

When the sky promises a storm to follow

We are reminded with the last of light

The grace and brilliance of a sunset

Light leaving, lingering and clinging

In shades of red like magenta, crimson, salmon and scarlet

Dancing like flames in the sky to the west at twilight

Only through those clouds

Can we find such beauty

Can we find such depth to an otherwise simple dark blue sky

Look

Look beyond your horizon

For there lies tomorrow

Though today we enjoy its spectacular display

Burdened by both anticipation and acceptance

Because we know a storm is drawing near.
